NEW ZEALAND ARTIST - LANDSCAPE & WILDERNESS
I am a New Zealand doctor and artist inspired by the landscapes and wilderness of Aotearoa. My paintings derive from my love of the outdoors and time spent exploring New Zealand's mountains, forests, and remote backcountry. Most of my paintings are inspired by places I have visited whilst tramping, from alpine huts to dramatic mountain landscapes.
I paint primarily in acrylic, using a layered approach to build fine detail and rich colours. I seek to capture the character and emotion of the landscape, sharing my connection with landscapes that I love.
Painting is an important part of my life alongside medicine. It provides a welcome balance to the demands or professional and family life. Painting offers an opportunity to reconnect to places I enjoy and benefit from the restorative power of the natural world.
My work includes original paintings and professionally produced fine art giclée, available either though representing galleries or directly through this website.
